Nottingham is a cosmopolitan city in East Midlands of England. Geography and Climate in Nottingham
The city centre is on the shores of the River Leen, at 52°58′00″N 01°10′00″W. The course of the Trent flowing from Stoke to the Humber passes close to its southern boundary. Nearby villages and towns are Eastwood, Tollerton, Hucknall, Ilkeston, Ruddington, and Long Eaton.

History:
Evidences show that Nottingham had settlements in pre-Roman times. The Romans also lived in the region, which was initially known as “Tigguo Cobauc”. It is clear that Anglo-Saxons and Vikings also ruled the area. In the 9th century, Nottingham became a fortified town of the Danelaw. In 1449, the city became a county corporate.
Nottingham became a borough in 1835 (under the Municipal Corporations Act) and a county borough in 1888. The boundary extensions of Nottingham were granted in 1933 and in 1951.
