Tourism in Rotherham
A major attraction in the town is an old bridge, known as Chantry Bridge, over the Don River. It is one of only four bridge chapels in England. Devoted to Our Lady of Rotherham, the bridge chapel was originally built in the 15th century and restored in 1923. Other notable structures in the town include the 15th century Minster (previously All Saints parish church) and the 18th century Clifton House that contains Clifton Park Museum.
The Catcliffe Glass Cone, a brick glassmaking furnace, located on the outskirts of Rotherham, is one of only four structures remaining in the country. The medieval remains of the Cistercian Roche Abbey, located at Maltby close to Rotherham, are also a popular tourist interest.
